David López-Pérez

Dr. David López-Pérez is a Profesor Titular de Universidad at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and Dean of the Beihang Valencia Polytechnic Institute (BVPI), the international joint institute established by Beihang University and UPV in Hangzhou, China. Prior to joining UPV, David was an Expert and Technical Leader at Huawei Technologies, Paris, and a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Nokia Bell Labs, Dublin. He received his PhD in Wireless Communications from the University of Bedfordshire as a Marie Curie Fellow and conducted postdoctoral research at King's College London.
David is an internationally recognized expert in wireless communications, with research interests spanning data-driven network modeling and optimization, artificial intelligence and machine learning for wireless systems, sustainable networking, and next-generation communication technologies. His contributions include pioneering work on small cells and ultra-dense networks, cellular and Wi-Fi interworking, multi-antenna systems, and energy-efficient communications. His current research focuses on 6G systems, digital twins for wireless networks, non-terrestrial and aerial communications, and the application of big data and AI to communication networks.
David has authored three books, 13 book chapters, and more than 200 scientific papers, and has filed 59 patent applications. His work has received more than 12,500 citations, with an h-index of 51. His recognitions include the IEEE ComSoc Best Young Professional in Industry Award (2016), Bell Labs Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (2019), IEEE WCNC Best Student Paper Award (2019), IEEE Globecom Best Paper Award (2022), and IEEE ICC Best Paper Award (2025). He has also led international research and industry initiatives, including projects within the Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) Alliance, and has served as an editor of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications.

Matteo Bernabè

Dr. Matteo Bernabè (Member, IEEE) is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain. Previously he was a PhD Researcher at Huawei Technologies France in Paris, in collaboration with the Department of Communication Systems at EURECOM in Sophia Antipolis. He received his Master's degree in Telecommunication Engineering, cum laude, from the University of Bologna, Italy.

Mauro Gonzalo Tarazona Lévano

PhD student at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), supervised by Dr. David López-Pérez and Dr. David Gómez-Barquero. He received his B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI), Peru, in 2016, and completed his M.Sc. in Telecommunication Technologies, Systems and Networks at UPV in 2024. He is currently completing a master's degree in Mathematical Research at UPV.

Ricardo Nicanor Barrios Muñoz is a PhD student at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad Nacional San Luis Gonzaga de Ica, Peru, and is a registered professional engineer.
His technical background covers telecommunications, wireless networks, antennas and radio links, microcontrollers, electrical installations, and computing. His current interests are focused on telecommunications and wireless communication systems, building on his multidisciplinary background in electronics, networking, and radio technologies.
