Internationalization activities
Internationalisation
Internationalisation activities and project-related collaborations
The project has significantly strengthened the internationalisation of this research line through new scientific collaborations with leading universities, technology centres and companies working on the integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks, aerial communications, artificial intelligence applied to mobile networks, digital twins and network optimisation.
These collaborations have resulted in joint publications in leading international journals and conferences, the organisation of international scientific activities, new research projects, and participation in competitive European initiatives.
Organisation of an international workshop
We organised “The 1st Workshop on Integration of Terrestrial and Non-terrestrial Networks for Aerial and Ground Wireless Connectivity”, held in Valencia in October 2025 in collaboration with Innotransfer-UPV. The event brought together international researchers and industry representatives to discuss the integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks — a topic directly aligned with the project's objectives.
- TN/NTN integration
- Hypercell
- Aerial connectivity
International research project with Huawei Technologies
Building on the work and results obtained in ZZNets, a new joint research project has been launched with Huawei Technologies France, focused on the development of digital twins for mobile networks, artificial intelligence techniques for network optimisation, and energy-efficiency solutions for 5G-Advanced and 6G networks.
- Digital twins
- AI for networks
- Energy efficiency
- 5.5G / 6G
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN) proposal
As a result of the international collaborations fostered during the project, the research team is taking part in the preparation and submission of the European proposal NET4ALL (Net-Zero Energy 3-Dimensional Communication NETworks for Reliable Global Connectivity for ALL), under the Horizon Europe – Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN) call.
- Sustainable 6G
- Artificial intelligence
- Digital twins
- TN/NTN
- Energy efficiency
Taken together, these activities show that ZZNets has acted as a catalyst for consolidating an international network of scientific and industrial collaboration, increasing the research team's participation in competitive European initiatives, and supporting the continuity of the research beyond the project's duration.
