MAURO GONZALO

Mauro Gonzalo Tarazona Lévano is a Ph.D. student at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), under the supervision of Dr. David López-Pérez and Dr. David Gómez-Barquero. He received his B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI), Peru, in 2016, and completed his M.Sc. in Telecommunication Technologies, Systems, and Networks at UPV in 2024. He is currently completing a master’s degree in Mathematical Research at UPV.
His research at the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) focuses on the application of artificial intelligence to wireless communications, with emphasis on state-of-the-art generative AI models for efficient and realistic 5G/6G channel modeling. He works with both statistical and ray-tracing propagation techniques, combined with AI-driven approaches, to advance digital twins and the integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks.
Before joining iTEAM, Mauro worked as a telecommunications analyst at the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) of Peru, specializing in spectrum management and telecommunications equipment regulation. His main research interests include AI-based channel modeling, digital twins, and the integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks, supported by his background in electromagnetic simulation and high-frequency methods.
